Tales from the Trenches: Taking Everlytic to market

Tech4Africa, the premier mobile, web & emerging technology event in Africa will be taking place in Nairobi, at Strathmore iLab & Business School on July 3. Now in its fourth year, the event has become a platform where business and technology combine to bring global perspective to the African context.

Tech4Africa is geared towards enabling an environment where techies can share their experiences and learn from industry players who have built products and successfully taken the products to market. This year T4A will be hosting Sam Hutchinson, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Everlytic to talk about successfully taking a software product to market and growing the business internationally.

Everlytic is an integrated email, mobile and social communications tool. The company started out in a Johannesburg garage some 10 years ago and now boasts companies like Oprah Magazine, Samsung, Chase Bank, Mail and Guardian and First National Bank as some of its clients.

Everlytic has since expanded to countries like Argentina, Brazil, Kenya, Ghana, Chile and Nigeria, with more emerging markets to follow. Hutchinson will be talking about the challenges of growing a software business, the mistakes he made, lessons he learned and most importantly how he succeeded in growing Everlytic in its quest to become an international business.

The software company is in the process of opening up offices in Nairobi Kenya, the heartland of Africa’s technology innovation as part of its expansion into emerging markets. Everlytic is set to establish itself as the ultimate platform for sharing content via email and social media in Africa.

Tech4Africa also runs regular Developer Hackathons which bring people together to explore technology stacks, complex problems, emerging technologies, collaborate on impactful projects and ideas, and unearth disruptive opportunities.
